Gradis Ciutta Sinefinis Rebolium Brut

Cross‑border collaboration: Rebolium is the creation of Italian winemaker Robert Princic and Slovenian winemaker Matjaž Četrtič.

A symbol of reconciliation: After WWII in 1947, their homeland was split by a new national border. Through this joint winemaking project, they wished to convey a message of hope and reconciliation, healing past wounds and divisions.

Latin name: The name “Rebolium” comes from Latin, meaning “without borders”. It also echoes the medieval name of the main grape variety, Ribolla.

Cross‑Border Terroir and Traditional Winemaking
Signature grape variety: Made from 100% Ribolla Gialla (a native white grape), known as Rebula in Slovenia.

Precious cross‑border terroir: Grapes are carefully selected from top vineyards in Italy’s Collio zone (Friuli‑Venezia Giulia) and Slovenia’s Brda region. Both areas share the iconic “Ponca” soil—a unique mix of marl and sandstone.

Traditional method: Crafted using the Metodo Classico (traditional Champagne method). Secondary fermentation in the bottle followed by sur lie ageing for at least 36 months, giving rich complexity and fine, persistent bubbles (perlage).

Thanks to its moving story and outstanding quality, Rebolium has been chosen for important diplomatic events as a symbol of cooperation and friendship.

2011 dinner at the Italian Presidential Palace: Served as a state banquet wine in honour of the Slovenian President.

2024 Italian National Day: Featured as a representative Italian brand at the celebrations in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
